DJ Kapa Mutha aka Kiara Piazza aka Swim Capitan, moved from Chicago, Illinois to pursue a degree in Math/Economics at Reed College. Graduating in 2020, she found that life felt vacant without a smooth and embodied practice to accompany her rock-hard mind. She mixes funk tunes and disco-house sets on vinyl performing between jazz lounges and forest raves -- a logical evolution to her creative and basic necessity to move the body and groove.
